Offshore pipeline expert joins forces with Fugro

Dr. ir. Filip Van den Abeele, an experienced pipeline consultant, holds a Master in Mechanical Engineering and received his PhD in Engineering Sciences from the Soete Laboratory (UGent), which enjoys worldwide recognition in the fields of fracture mechanics and pipeline engineering.

He also obtained a Master in Ocean and Offshore Technology from Cranfield University (UK). Filip is working as a senior pipeline consultant in the oil and gas industry, and has a proven track record in mechanical design, finite element modelling and free span assessment.

Filip provides external consultancy services to Fugro to help guide the development team to address the customers’requirements and to anticipate to emerging trends in the oil and gas market.
