SAGE Profile 2D – SP2D – is suite of software developed to aid the pipeline engineers in the design of subsea pipeline and flowline. The main purpose is to rapidly assess in 2D the strain and stresses in the pipe laid onto the seabed. SAGE Profile 2D interface allows the user to rapidly import a 2D seabed profile and to run simple (e.g. elastic pipe material) to more advanced analysis (e.g. non-elastic pipe, advanced pipe-soil interaction model). SAGE Profile 2D is powered by an implicit finite element solver.
A Plough Module add-on is also available. It aims to automate the modelling of the situation in which the pipeline is supported by the plough grabs/rollers.
