New in version 2.1:

  • Engine:
    • The WBS (Worker Based Simulation) is a new feature in SP3D v2.1 enabling simultaneous execution of software code. This feature allows the new SAGE Profile engine (SimPipe) to take advantage of multi‐core processor performance and boost significantly computation time! By combining capabilities of multi‐core computers with the new SP3D engine, you can expect to run analyses more than 2 times faster than before!

New in version 2.0:

  • Engine:
    • Nodal Value Logging: all output parameters currently available in the viewer can now also be logged vs. time during an analysis. Allows to easily produce e.g. force displacement curves;
    • XSPIM: the External Soil Pipe Interaction Module is an API that allows in-house soil models to be used in SAGE Profile 3D;
  • Editor:
    • Definition of pressure profiles,
    • SAGE Profile 3D EditorAdvanced Boundary conditions to model FLET, PLEM, ITA's;
    • Hydrodynamic loading based on current profile using Morisson equations;
    • Create contour and gradient maps;
    • Display of route statistics in the Editor;
    • Measure distances and angles on DTM plan view;
    • 3D view of bathymetry in the Editor;
    • Assessment of the pipe lay stability based on seabed friction, bottom tension and bending radius;
    • Import routes as IP-Points, list of ENE points or FLF file;
    • Export route to IP-Poins, list ENE points or FLF file;
    • Use of pressure profiles;
    • Capability of defining multiple lay tension profiles;
    • Non linear bending using user defined piecewise linear stress/strain and moment/curvature curves;
  • Main:
    • Main WindowCompletely redesigned window with tree representation of all analyses, display of the selected analysis properties; summary of FE inputes files, FE input file editting capability and display of the analysis statistics including, run time, Kinetic Energy level at end, analyses start and end time, code & span check run time and date;
    • New analysis queuing system allowing to run a single analysis or all analyses in a project;
    • New span check - DNV RP F105 (2006);
    • Nodal value logging;
    • Completely redesigned online help and manual;
  • Viewer:
    • SAGE Profile 3D ViewerCreation of a span summary listing KP start, KP end, span lenght and span height
    • Open code & span check results
    • Chart templates can plot code, span and nodal value logging results
    • Customise display precision of results loaded into the viewer
    • Capability to use left and right Y-axis on charts


Improved in version 2.0:

  • An analysis report can be created before the analysis is run
  • An algorithm that converts list of ENE points to straight lines and curves is improved. Create Seabed Profile dialog now displays a heading chart indicating how many straight sections and circle arcs should be found in the raw data
  • A default button allows to easily reset custom settings for Gridlines, fonts and placements on the chart options dialog;
  • Viewer: 2 and more 3D view windows can now be opened;
  • All DNV2000 parameters are now defined when starting the code check;
  • The Pipe Properties window in the Editor now displays the pipeline specific gravity and waterfilled weight
  • The Pipe Properties window in the Editor now displays the pipeline length required to lay the required KP-range;
  • KP-ticks can now be displayed on the plan view of the route in the Editor;
  • A seabed profile can be exported to a new SP3D model and used in 2D to run 2D simulations;
  • While an analysis is running, the viewer can now open analysis results from all models in the current project;
